Been a While

So I know I don't post anywhere near a regular basis but here's an update on me for those that are interested:

This last weekend was fun. Me and my friends all pretty much entered a Film Festival: Campus Movie Fest. We did this last year too but this time around we split into 3 groups and I got to do more. So I worked on Leslie and Hannah's movie. The basic story of the short film is before the film starts boy had girlfriend, boy cheated on girlfriend, girlfriend dumped boy, and now they run into each other at a Party. So the movie starts at that party, they're awkward. he still likes her. he gets drunk and passes out. Dream Sequence! So he has a musical dream involving himself, girlfriend and girl he hooked up with. SO then he wakes up, realizes he's an asshole and goes and apologizes.

So on Friday, my friends shot the morning parts of the movie, (him going to apologize) and then at night we shot the party scene, and then using a bright theater light on the balcony, made it seem like it was day to shot him walking up. Shooting the party scene was funny because I was with Tom and Kristina and the random conversations they had were HILARIOUS. So that was friday. After shooting we went to watch improv which was fun too.

Then on Saturday we shot the dream sequence. Now my friend went and got some theater lights and HUGE black drapes to hang in the living room so it seems like Boy is in darkness in his dream. So we filmed this in Leslie's living room, so the couch was stood up and put in front of the door. We had a fog machine to use in the dream. And then we had the Crisis. So they were testing out of the fog machine and we had all windows closed and the AC off. There's no door separating the living room with the hallway leading to the bedrooms. The fog fills up the place and the fire alarms go off! Luckily the one that calls the fire department didn't go off but still we were panicing. So we open all the windows and the door to let the fog vent out of the apartment and we hear sirens. So we panic even more, thinking the fire truck is coming, so we quickly get the couch down since it was a safety hazard how it was and try to fan out all the fog. Then we realize that it looks like the place is on fire cuz fog is coming out of the place and it looks like smoke so we're hoping no one calls the fire department thinking the place is on fire because it looks like a lot of smoke is coming out and the alarms were going off. But luckily nothing happens. So after panicing we film the scene and only use the fog machine at the very end, making sure to air out fog in between so it doesn't fill up the place again. I get to be a grip and be Haley's (who is playing the girlfriend) own personal spotlight. And then when we finish filming we export everything on to the computer while we go over to kevin's to give him the birthday cake his mom sent to Leslie and Hannah to give to him. After that we go to the Groove to have dinner and celebrate Kevin's birthday and watch Zombieland.

When we get back, I stay up with Leslie and organize the clips so that I could just edit on Sunday. We realize we have to cut out a person's scene cuz we didn't get all the shots we needed for it filmed.

So then it's sunday and I go over to their place at 10am and start editing. Everything's going good. Leslie feeds me. Everything's good and then we realize that the dream scene is 3mins and 46secs long. The movie can't be more than 5mins. and then other scenes easily take up 2-3mins too. So we spend the rest of the time finishing the other scenes and then cutting them down until we get to under 5mins, which took a couple of hours. We had to cut out another character which was sad and didn't even really have time for credits and the actually party scene. We merged the credits and party scene as an opening for the movie which worked out pretty well. Then I handed it over to Leslie for her to color correct and add music and background noise.
I went to bed after 1am that day.

So then on monday night we watched all the movies we made, which were all much better than last year's. Good stuff. The finale for USC is this coming thursday so we'll see if any of our movies made it to USC finals.

The week's been ok since then. Had a midterm yesterday. Right after finishing the test, I was speed walking to catch up with my friend and totally tripped and fell. And now my knee hurts from where it bleed and it hurts to bend cuz of the skin being pulled so walking up and down stairs in a pain in the ass.

This weekend will be spent editing a master cut of our CMF movie just for fun. And then studying for my midterm on wednesday.

Being Alone Sucks

And by this I mean I don't like being the only one home in the apartment. Gives me too much time to be alone inside my head which isn't always fun. Part of the reason I hate being alone, especially in the late afternoon/evening I think is because all my life there have always been people home with me at this hour. I'm just not used to having the place all to myself at this time of day.

But anyways, in other news. It's interesting. The first year of College is for making groups of friends, while the second one is for finding out of that group of friends you made, which are your actual friends and which are just friendly acquaintances who happen to be your friends' friends and who you really don't have anything against. I can't wait until you get to the point where you actually get close to people. Or maybe I'm just slow at that part. I guess, maybe so, considering that all my really close friends i've known for 5+ years, so there's that.

I guess in the end I just miss my lovable losers and my family. So warm and comfy the home is.

Long Time

So it's been a while since I blogged. Summer's been nice. Hung out with people more than before. Got a job and been lazy when I should be working on my application. Thanks to my BFFLs for helping me out with making my video for the application that is due before Sept 1st. It really means a lot to me. You have no idea.

Today was a good day. Cherine's birthday was a lot of fun. Can't wait for our next sleepover.

This summer been looking a lot at wikihow about How to tell if a guy likes you or how to tell a guy you like him and the such. Fun stuff.

Lots of Friend Zone talk. We need to get out of this zone my buddies.

This Past Week

So for three days straight the fire alarm went off at our dorm. On Wednesday (the first time) I had just finished eating with my friends when it rang. The firefighters came, and the alarm kept turning on and off. An RA with some buddies were video taping the whole thing. Then the firetruck tried to get out and the front right wheel hit the sidewalk. Fail. Then for some reason they put out the ladder and set it up to go on the dorm roof but didn't go? Fail again! We finally got to go back in and then about an hour later the alarm went off again. Apparently it went off again on Thursday but I was at work, and then on Friday it went off again for the last time.

Friday night was interesting. We wanted to go to the movies and cheer up our friend Hannah who was down because her boyfriend Carter had gone home again for the weekend. We were going to watch 17 again because Hannah loves Zach Efron. So five of us go with her. We get into Kelsey's jeep and Hannah goes in the trunk as she has done before. Around 10-15 mins later we getting into a car accident. What happened was for some reason two cars in front of us just randomly stopped on the freeway with no warning. Kelsey hit the brakes but it was all too suddenly and we ended up hitting the car infront of us which had already hit the car in front of it. Then the car behind us hit us. We're all ok though, and Kelsey's car is pretty ok except for one headlight.

My friends took Hannah to the hospital yesterday to get her head checked out just in case because she's the one who hit her head the most, but she's fine and is getting some medicine.

I can now say I've been in a car accident...

3 more weeks

I'll be home in three more weeks. That also means that I have 3 weeks to tell Tyler than I like him or leave for summer vacation without him ever knowing. If possible I would like to ask him out on a date before that but as much as I daydream about it I don't see it happening. Anyways in other news...

This week I saw the dragon ball evolutions movie (bootlegged of course) and it was AWFUL. I did expect it to be bad so it was fun making fun of it and going "WTF" the whole movie. And then we watched the first 3 episodes of Dragon Ball which was cool.

I have a paper to write for Monday and I still have NO idea what I'm writing about. I'm going to go watch the Star Trek movie with my trekkies friends at midnight the day it comes out. My friend Kristina is going to dress up as Spock so we're making a short documentary of the process.

I can't wait for classes to end and to go home but I kinda wanna hang with people here for sometime without classes or finals or studying too. I'm coming back for sure the 10th though.

Birthday!

So this Sunday as most of you should know (even though most of you didn't say happy birthday) was my 19th Birthday. It started off with some of my friends here telling me Happy Birthday right at midnight which was cool. But before all that, there was Friday and Saturday which were fun.

On Friday a bunch of us went to watch Coreline. It was good; I liked it. Though I would be freaked out if I was a little kid watching that movie. I would end up sleeping in my parents' bed. But other than that, it was done well and the music was amazing. Though as some peeps here said, the movie did have a bit of a video game feel to it.

Then on Saturday Ana, Hannah, Kelsey and I went to the Getty (this museum) which was fun. When we got back we watched Porco Rosso with the projector and then stayed up until it was my Birthday. Then I went to bed at 1am.

On sunday my mom called me at 9:18am to wish me happy birthday. I got up to use the bathroom at 10:30ish and I saw that someone (ended up being my friend Nataliya) had decorated my door with streamers and balloons. I went to have lunch at a Chilean restaurant with Kelsey, Ana, Leslie, Hannah, Ana, and Kris. It was good but the waiter took forever to give us our check and Hannah and Leslie really had to go. Oh and I helped Hannah out with her spanish hw where she had to interview someone in Spanish at a restaurant. That was fun. I got back and did some hw and then we watched some Loony Toons and 10 Things I hate About you. Oh and Nataliya got me a cute stuff animal puppy and Ana got me a bunch of art supplies. Ooo and Haley drew me the racoon from Pocahantus (sp?).

On a side note, I didn't check my facebook after 3 on saturday so I didn't notice but Tyler was the first non-family member person who wished me Happy Birthday. That made me very happy. I know I'm silly and nothing seems to be happening with him but we do talk at least once a day.

Valentine's Day and other disasters

Happy Valentine's Day to all! And Happy Birthday to Monica!

Sorry I haven't blogged weekly like I said I would try. Well anyways, today I'm going to go see The Vagina Monologues with Leslie and Ana. It's Ana's V-day present since she got us chocolate. These last three weeks have been sucky in the sense of injury, illness, and period.

So about 2 weeks ago I pulled a tendon near my ankle on Wednesday night and it hurt to walk. I didn't think much of it and went to bed but it kept hurting the next day. So I didn't go to most of my classes that Thursday and Friday. Ana got me good tuna sandwiches to eat though. That Saturday we went to Universal City Walk. That was fun. Then the next week I had my period which always sucks but that's not new. I got drenched on Thursday so I got to skip my last hour of work. Then this week I got sick on Thursday. I went to my Japanese class and my Writing 140 conference but then I felt bad so went to sleep. Friday was even worse. I went to the Health center and was told I just have a common virus. I slept a lot on Friday too. A lot of people are or have been sick lately. There's Katherine, Ana, Brieonna, Nataliya, Hannah, Tyler, and me. I might be forgetting someone there. Nela was sick too I think.

So on another side of life, I talk to Tyler a bit more than before. It's random but nice. I don't think he likes me back though, but that's ok. I very much would still like to be his friend.

2 more weeks until my Birthday! xD

Natural History Museum, Disneyland

So the first week of class was fun minus the fire alarm at 5 in the morning bit. I went to the Greek Row on wednesday night as I said but didn't join in for thursday. Instead I watched Machine Girl with the people who stayed back (which included Tyler who I sat next to during the movie). xD the movie was... interesting. Lots of random fighting with very little plot and lots of blood everywhere. improv on friday was funny as usual. On Saturday I went to the Natural History Museum across the street from school since it's free for us USC kids. Went with a big group. Was fun. saw atlantis and speed racer later that night. Went to disneyland on sunday with nataliya, maria, brieonna, and jake. Kristina, Kevin, Leslie and Hannah were there at the same time though we didn't meet up. that was fun too. On monday I did my hw and skipped going to the beach sadly. We later watched Harry Potter 2 with commentary like Mystery Science theater. Got to sit next to Tyler again, yay for me. um that's about it I guess.

The Fire Alarm

Last night I went with some of my friends to the Greek Row cuz they wanted to go so i tagged along. It was mostly boring for me. Dancing was a bit fun though, but eh not a big party person and frat parties feel boring to me unless we're dancing then it's a bit more ok. Well anyways after that I got back to the dorm at 2 something and was getting into bed around 2:30am. So I'm sleeping right, and around 5 in the fucking morning the fire alarm goes off. At first I don't really notice. I think it's just a sound in my dream but then I realized I'm waking up and it's a real sound. It takes me a few seconds to realize it's the stupid fire alarm. I check my clock and it's 5:18. me and my roommate decide to ignore it and stay in bed (as did many people I found out later on). It was soooooo annoying. Finally I hear people coming back into the halls. Apparently someone had set something afire in a garbage bag and that set off the alarm. I fell back asleep at 6 and then woke up at 9:10ish. I didn't hear my alarm go off at 9 though. Well that left me a bit annoyed in the morning but i think I'm good now.

I got a review exam in Japanese tomorrow which is gonna suck so bad but oh wells. Wish me luck. now back to studying

One Week

So I only have one more week of vacation before I leave for USC and classes start. This semester I'll be taking Writing 140, my social issues class, drawing a, singing, and Japanese II. That and I'll be working about 10-12 hours a week.

I'm gonna have to apply for next year's housing on Jan 20th. I'll be rooming with Nataliya, Brieonna, and Maria. Me and Nataliya claimed each other as roomies so that Brie doesn't drive us crazy. After that the Ed Wood film festival is coming around so hope we work on that.

I still wanna go to Jeff this week and see ms Coronado and Kasameyer before I leave. hmm not much to say. This winter break has been like most. Had crazy winter break shopping, celebrated Lizzie's B-day. had the same christmas and new years like every year. got to hang out with my friends and bro and sis. Stayed home and slept in a lot. good stuff.
